Audrey Connell, MA
“The work we do at CooperRiis is encouraging and powerful. Every member of the community brings their gifts and talents to make this a truly special place to work and a community to be a part of. I am grateful to assist families and loved ones in their initial steps of their recovery journey. The work in Admissions allows me to collaborate with prospective residents and their family members in typically one of the most stressful times of their lives. I take this very seriously and genuinely do my best to alleviate that stress and worry. Working in Admissions gives me the opportunity to meet a person as an individual with potential and purpose rather than as an individual with mental health challenges.”
Audrey previously worked in Buffalo, N.Y., Charlotte, N.C., and Greenville, S.C., in various professional capacities including private practice, suicide prevention, homicide and trauma response alongside law enforcement, college professor, and program directors at non-profit agencies and state health facilities.
Audrey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work with a minor in Gerontology from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y.
Audrey may be a New Yorker at heart, but her love of the outdoors enjoying nature in the beautiful Western North Carolina mountains has made her a convert. She also loves all things water and enjoys exploring new hobbies.
