Join us for a brunch dedicated to supporting mental health in Asheville. At Our Bountiful Hope Brunch, we will celebrate over 20 years of CooperRiis’ commitment to holistic care and be part of the ongoing journey toward mental wellness.
This gathering is more than a brunch—it’s an opportunity to forge connections, hear transformative stories from our community, and see firsthand how your support can make a real difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges. Myra Ruiz, senior reporter in Greenville, will guide us through our time together. Featured guest, Frank King, will blend humor and insight, enriching our dialogue about mental health.
Frank King is a comedian, mental health advocate, and survivor with a powerful story. He has delivered 12 TED Talks on mental health and is a warrior in his lifelong battle with depression and thoughts of suicide. As a suicide prevention and postvention public speaker and trainer, Frank shares his insights and experiences. Additionally, he brings decades of experience as a former writer for The Tonight Show, a corporate comedian, syndicated humor columnist, and a featured expert on CNN’s Business Unusual.
Residential and transitional services programming includes comprehensive treatment through individual psychiatry and psychotherapy, case management, medication management, evidenced-based group interventions, and proven skill-building programs. CooperRiis’ wellness component includes farm-to-table meals that are anti-inflammatory and proven to support good mental health, as well as fitness programming tailored to each individual.
Born from a vision to fill a critical gap in mental health care, CooperRiis has been a sanctuary for over 2,200 individuals since 2003. Our founders, Lisbeth Riis Cooper and Don Cooper, created and built a community where healing is nurtured, hope is found, and lives are transformed.
