Dear Friends,

Thirteen years ago we started CooperRiis Healing Community because of our personal experience with the challenging mental health system.  We envisioned a place where an individual isn’t defined by their diagnosis, but by their personality and their potential.  We wanted to create a community where people could heal and pursue their dreams.

Over time CooperRiis has grown from a single Farm campus with a poinsettia filled greenhouse, to a multi campus recovery community including an urban campus in Asheville and 12 community homes.

We just reached the milestone of having served 1,000 residents since our doors opened! We couldn’t have done any of this without you and your belief in our program. And for that, we are grateful.

We have poured our hearts and souls into CooperRiis and it continues to be the most rewarding experience we could ever have imagined… being a part of someone’s recovery journey – to hear someone say, “This place saved my life!” – or to hear a staff member say, “I can’t imagine more meaningful work than to watch people move forward toward successful lives.”

CooperRiis was built on the principle of Hope and that principle continues to sustain our program and allows us to continue leading people down a path of recovery.

Happy Thanksgiving!

                                                                                            With immense gratitude,

                                                                                            Don and Lisbeth Cooper
