Danielle Eavenson, BS, BA, CHHC

Integrative Health Director

“My role at CooperRiis is to meet residents where they are, brainstorm ways they might feel better in their bodies, and walk alongside them to realize their goals. We discuss the roles of movement, nutrition, mindfulness, sleep, full-spectrum light, and connection to the community and how they contribute to our mental, emotional, and physical well-being and lead to the path of health and wellness. We also explore ways to create daily practices that support vitality and balance.”

Danielle has worked at CooperRiis at Asheville for seven years. Before that, she had her own health coaching and community herbalist practice. She taught nutrition and herbal medicine to adults and teenagers, worked for Family Preservation, supported kids with mental health challenges in schools, and worked as a support counselor at Total Action Against Poverty.

Danielle obtained her undergraduate training at Virginia Tech, earning a BS in Psychology and a BA in Communications.  She studied yoga at the Blue Ridge School of Massage in Asheville, NC, and Blacksburg, VA. She studied herbal medicine at the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine in Asheville, NC, and acupressure at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA, earning certifications in these modalities.

She attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a Health Coach. She is currently enrolled at the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy, working towards a credential as an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Practitioner.

When not working, I am likely trying to catch up with my oldest son on mountain bikes, being a soccer mom, dancing, working in the garden, or hanging with friends around a fire.
