I am committed to supporting each client’s unique growth journey and providing the appropriate resources to support their recovery. By connecting individuals with the right resources, we can equip them with the essential tools to achieve their goals and create the fulfilling life they deserve. I chose to work at CooperRiis because its programming distinguishes itself from other programs. Its holistic approach, client-centered focus, and emphasis on self-care are unique.
Brittain has a diverse work background. He began his career as a residential counselor at a children’s home but realized that this work wasn’t for him, but it provided him with valuable insight into helping others. Next, he worked for six years as a Duke Energy lineman and utility coordinator for the City of Greensboro, NC. Eventually, he transitioned back into the human services field as a BHT Behavioral Health Technician at a substance abuse treatment center. He was promoted to BHT Supervisor and started pursuing his Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor designation (CADC).
Brittain prioritized life experiences before attending higher education. This past year, he enrolled at AB Tech in Asheville, NC, to pursue an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Human Services Degree, focusing on Mental Health. Upon completing the program, he plans to take the exam to become a fully licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and continue his education by pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).
