Will has worked in various therapeutic settings, including residential inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment, managing aftercare programs and transitional housing, and school-based counseling for middle and high school students before joining the CooperRiis PHP, Partial Hospitalization Team. in Asheville, NC.
As a therapist, Will is guided by the fundamental beliefs that people CAN create positive change in their own lives and that having a community is essential to wellness and healing.
Will earned his BSW and MSW from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC.
He became a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor certification in 2009.
When he is not working, you may look for Will hiking or biking around our beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, coaching his son’s basketball teams, or spending time with family and friends.
