Rebecca Mitchell

Rebecca Mitchell, LCMHCA

Integrative Therapist

Being part of community recovery and healing has always inspired me. My passion for this work runs deep, and I am grateful for the opportunity to support residents both in therapy and throughout their daily lives. By building strong relationships and working together, we all have the chance to grow and thrive during our time at CooperRiis Farm.

Supporting others by being a caring and attentive presence is central to Rebecca’s approach. Her personal journey with mental health has shaped her perspective, and learning from lived experiences has strengthened her ability to connect with and understand those she works with.

Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up. -Brene Brown.

After earning her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Rebecca started her career in outpatient therapy at Full Circle Community Wellness. She later transitioned to Tapestry–Brevard, a residential treatment center that prioritizes primary mental health and secondary substance use recovery.

Rebecca earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from UNC Wilmington, North Carolina.

She is currently working toward full licensure through the North Carolina Board of Clinical Mental Health Counselors.

Rebecca is a parent to a fun-loving 5-year-old, with another one on the way. Their home is already lively with two cats and a dog, so adding one more to the crew feels perfectly natural, she says.

In her downtime, she loves playing video games—especially open-world and adventure titles.
