Vanessa has worked in the mental health field since 2020, from residential treatment centers to international recovery getaways. She volunteers with the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Western Carolina as a Peer Support Specialist for families of people with mental illness and survivors of suicide. She is an experienced facilitator of Non-Violent Communication and Writers for Recovery.
She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Sewanee: The University of the South and strives to become licensed as a mental health professional.
In her downtime, she is a meditator, freelance writer, and concert-goer who likes to dance like no one’s watching.
