Before joining the CooperRiis Admissions Team, Tamara worked in medical and clinical social work for nearly three years as an inpatient therapist on a local psychiatric unit and as a therapist in outpatient community mental health for over a year. Most of her clinical experience has been working with individuals diagnosed with Personality Disorders and other Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses (SPMI), including persons with Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorders.
Tamara earned her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master of Social Work Degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and will have completed the Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist criteria (LCAS) summer of 2022.
