“The community atmosphere at CooperRiis was a significant draw for me. The autonomy and empowerment offered to the residents in their recovery vs. the traditional mental health treatment are out of the ordinary and exceptional.”
Before joining the CooperRiis Integrative Recovery Team, Kristin was an Outpatient/school-based Therapist with Access Family Services in Asheville, NC. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a Minor in Sociology and a concentration in Natural Sciences from Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina, in 2017 and her Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC, in 2019. She’s also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
“I am a hands-on person and love being outside in the mountains with my two dogs; I look forward to spending time on the animal crew with the residents and staff.”
