We opened the CooperRiis at Asheville program on September 1st of this year. The program continues with our mission as a primary mental health facility, and it provides an intensely structured clinical experience whose focus is on stabilization and taking the steps necessary to begin the recovery process.

So, how is it going?

When checking in with Dr. Amy Zimmerman, the CooperRiis at Asheville Integrative Psychiatrist, she had this to share, “Our new program is going very well. There appears to be a high demand and we’ve met it eagerly and enthusiastically.”

Kim Nelson, National Outreach Coordinator adds, “The volume of interest is remarkable.  Referral sources are not only sharing the program with the families they are trying to support, but they are reaching out to us directly as a resource as well.”

Jennifer Meehan, CooperRiis at Asheville Admissions Manager, shares, “It’s an honor to be a part of such a holistic program that is truly providing quality treatment.” She also notes a “continued and increasing interest” from our callers seeking treatment. Also,  in response to the development of this program, “there was a need and we filled it.”

Zelda Thaker, CooperRiis at Asheville Admissions Coordinator adds, “In my years in the mental health field, I haven’t seen a program with this many actively involved residents; actively involved in the community, engaging in the material, and trusting in the process.  You can see the changes and recovery happening daily.”

Stephanie Stewart, Asheville Managing Director shares, “CooperRiis at Asheville has really taken off. We have been open for 2 months and I believe we have found a groove. We have seen 5 transitions to the farm and 2 to ACP which is very exciting. Our staff team is incredible. I continue to be grateful to work with people who are so passionate about what we do here. CooperRiis at Asheville is thriving. It feels great.”
