The Lodge Advisor Team, Mill Spring/Tryon Farm Campus
Lodge Advisors give support and guidance to our residents after the Life Skills Program ends in the afternoon. They reside in each lodge at the farm helping to ensure that residents have a restful, social and recreational evening experience. By living in the same environment as the residents they get to know each resident in a personal way; they are fully ‘in community’ with each resident. They and evening support staff listen deeply. Although they will call in therapists as needed, it is most often the LodgeAdvisor on a day-to-day basis who helps the resident to feel at home and to achieve a sense of belonging and safety. The Lodge Advisors are also on call to the residents throughout the night should one of them need assistance. Since each is also trained in medication administration, the Lodge Advisor can also provide access to PRN medications according to the psychiatrist’s orders.
