Mark Abernathy
IT Manager

Mark is our computer “Doc” and manages our computer systems and servers and that is no small task being that we have computers everywhere, at least it seems that way.  

He majored in business information systems at the University of South Carolina and subsequently worked there for seven years in computer programming, systems and network support.  Mark also attended Spartanburg Technical College for computer technology and programming.  

According to Mark: My love for the mountains and Asheville & Black Mountain made me just decide to move back here one day, because the time would never be "perfect", I just had to "do it"!  Well, that was our luck!

Mark is a hiker and backpacker and has completed almost 300 miles of the Appalachian Trail and would like to "thru hike" the AT one day from Georgia to Maine when he can find a spare 6 months to do it but for now, there are too many computers at CooperRiis that need his attention before he can take sojourns into the woods.

Mark lives in Black Mountain, NC.
