< Previous Shar Connolly Shar’s greatest joy is watching the metamorphosis of a resident graduate as they journey through the recovery process toward mental wellness and greater levels of autonomy. From Michigan, Shar Connolly, relocated to Asheville, North Carolina in 2004, to help launch and co-manage the CooperRiis Graduate Program with her husband, Kris Connolly. In her current position as Senior Recovery Coach for Mill Spring/Tryon and Asheville Graduate Programs she counsels graduates in maintaining stability by using the Enhanced Recovery Model, helps them improve coping skills, adjust to work, school and/or volunteer positions and nurtures their sense of independence, individuation and self-determination. Shar graduated from Marygrove College in Detroit with a degree in Social Work. Prior to joining the CooperRiis Staff, Shar was employed in Michigan for a non-profit organization as an in-home family counselor. She also facilitated parenting support groups, conflict resolution presentations and owned her own business as a Life Coach. Shar has a son who is married and resides in Michigan and has blessed her with two beautiful grandchildren. She also has two adult step-children, one living with her and her husband in Asheville and one in graduate school in California. |
