Mary Schweder MA, LPC
Psychotherapist

Mary is one of our three Psychotherapists and has the most incredible infectious laughter and happy outlook on life.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked in a hospital setting, an outpatient private practice and with a Community Mental Health Clinic.  Mary facilitates a weekly DBT, (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills training group for the residents at CooperRiis along with her individual and family sessions.

Before coming to CooperRiis she was a therapist working with New Vistas in the Polk County School System.  She studied Fine Arts at the University of Denver (BA) and psychology at the University of North Carolina in Asheville and earned her Masters Degree in Counseling from Webster University.

Mary owns and rides Arabian horses.  Before changing careers to work with people who suffer from mental illness she owned and operated a studio and art gallery.
