Stan Bayne, MDIV, LCAS, LPC
Addictions Counselor and Therapist

Stan brings to us over 20 years counseling experience working in both the private and public sector with individuals who suffer with co-occurring disorders.  He leads our addictions and substance abuse groups and provides individual therapy for residents who seek to overcome alcohol and drug abuse or addictions.  He is also a part of the Wellness Team and assists residents in overcoming nicotine, caffeine and sugar addictions.

He was clinical supervisor and program director for the Substance Abuse Program at the Rutherford Polk Area Mental Health Program and received the Norman Boyer Award in 1999 for outstanding Crisis Line service for over twelve continuous years.  Stan is a teacher, a minister, a counselor, a violin student and a Mickey Mouse aficionado, come see his office!

Stan earned a BA in history and psychology and a Master of Div. Degree from Columbia University.  He is a Certified Clinical Supervisor with the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Certification Board and a North Carolina Addictions Fellow who was chosen from a broad spectrum of candidates to participate in an intensive training program at Duke University.

Stan has also served on the Tryon and Polk County Drug Task Force, the Polk County Wellness Task and The Center for Creative Leadership and Pavillon International.

Stan and his wife live in Columbus and have two sons they home school.
