CooperRiis is a Working Community

CooperRiis is a community where residents and staff work, learn, socialize, dine and recreate together—all within an environment that is inspiring, diverse and active for all.

Our community practices relationship-centered care that affirms and appreciates the daily accomplishments of each resident.  We are active listeners and use every interaction as an opportunity to support our residents’ journeys toward well-being.  To that end, we welcome volunteers wishing to assist us. Volunteers are encouraged to take on full staff roles during their time with us, regardless of whether they are with us for a year, a quarter, a month, a week or even a day.

CooperRiis Volunteer Opportunities include:

  • Full-time, residential roles as support staff or Lodge Advisors.  These opportunities require a three-month commitment and often last as long as a year.  A stipend, housing and meals are offered for this level of commitment.
  • Evening or weekend recreational activities in the Art Barn and elsewhere on the property, where a volunteer may use his or her talents to inspire, teach and coach residents and staff in the arts, music, sports or whatever else springs from their imagination.
  • Contributions of your talents and time to help us with the work and mission of CooperRiis. This can include everything from helping on the farm, serving on a committee or assisting with fund-raising or marketing.
