Mental Health Communities of Hope and Healing The American Residential Treatment Association was formed in 1992 to promote and enhance residential mental health treatment. The Member organizations of ARTA offer a variety of services and are able to respond to a wide range of needs. Listing in our directory reflects membership and does not imply any specific recommendation or endorsement. Any of our members will be happy to talk with you about their programs and how they might address your specific set of circumstances. Members of ARTA meet twice yearly in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, to discuss matters of joint concern and to direct the actions of ARTA.

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) (NAMI) is a nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization of consumers, families, and friends of people with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders.

The Polk County Chamber of Commerce Contains information about the area where the CooperRiis Farm is located. Historic Saluda, Tryon, and Columbus and six townships, including Mill Spring, that make up the heart of the 234 miles of rural Polk County. Located in the central Blue Ridge mountains and foothills, the area is known for its mild climate due to the "Thermal Belt." Warm air settles and moderates the temperatures cooler in summer and warmer in winter. This phenomenon allows for outdoor activities and events to be enjoyed throughout the seasons.

WPVM 103.5 FM, Chautauqua (sha-Tah-kwa) Radio Asheville, NC WPVM is unique in that it is a local progressive grassroots community radio station. We are not an NPR station. WPVM is adding value to what is already on the airwaves and playing an important role in western North Carolina by being a local progressive voice in our community.

The Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) How can one person inspired with compassion meaningfully assist so many others that are immersed in poverty, abuse, hunger, or exclusion? This question is prevalent on the minds of many young students right after graduation. Filled with enthusiasm and high aspirations, they often lack the focus or the connections to know where to start. Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) offers these bright and energetic individuals both the opportunities and the connections to make a practical difference in the world around them.
